FAQ

A few things people ask.

If you have a machine sitting around, start here. Buyers will find answers too. Anything else, write sales@equipmentrelay.com.

For sellers

Do you pick up the machine?
No, and that is the idea. It stays in your building until the buyer comes for it. We come look at it, list it, and handle the sale.
Is there a fee to list?
No. We do not charge to list, and we do not charge to come look. You pay a commission only when it sells.
Do you buy machines?
No. We sell it for you. We do not write a check for the machine ourselves.
What do you charge when it sells?
A commission from the sale: 15% under $50,000, 10% from $50,000 to $100,000, and 7% above $100,000, or a rate we agree on. The table is on the Pricing page.
Where do you work?
New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. We are based in Rockland County. There is no public shop. If you are outside this area, email us anyway.
What if it does not sell?
You do not owe a listing fee. We look at every listing each week. After three months we talk about what to do next: a new price, a new plan, or extra promotion if you want it, which would be a separate cost.
Do I have to list only with you?
No. You do not have to sign an exclusive. If we bring the buyer, we are paid our commission.
What will you take?
Industrial equipment. If you are not sure it fits, send a photo. We will tell you honestly.

For buyers

Where is the machine?
At the seller's shop. We set up a time to see it. We do not have a showroom.
Do you deliver or rig it?
No. You arrange the rigging and freight. We make the introduction and work the deal.
Is there a warranty?
No. Sold as-is. We put the condition on the listing. Come look before you buy.
Can I see it run?
We like you to see it run. That is not always possible. If it cannot be demonstrated, we say so up front.
How do I pay?
A bank check is what we like. Wire and other methods are possible, depending on the deal.
